The way the Telangana Congress MPs are vociferously condemning the statement of Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao on the formation of Telangana state in a month or two has surprised everybody.

The TRS president confidently said he had received enough hints from the Centre on an announcement on the formation of Telangana in August or September, but the Telangana Congress MPs are not as confident as KCR is. They described the statement of the TRS president as a “figment of imagination” and said that the Congress high command has no such plans at all. Naturally, one gets the doubt as to whether Congress president Sonia Gandhi would discuss the Telangana issue secretly with KCR, without taking the Telangana Congress leaders into confidence.

What is more surprising is that that while KCR is strongly opposing the action plan of the Telangana Joint Action Committee to launch a massive agitation in August for Telangana, the T-Congress MPs are strongly supporting the same. Apparently, the T-Congress MPs have more idea about what is there in the mind of Sonia than the TRS president, who must be making such statements only to boost his party cadres.

It remains to be seen whose prediction will come true in the coming days.
