Congress post-mortem report deferred!

The Cabinet sub-committee, constituted by the Chief Minister to conduct a post-mortem of sorts on the Congress party’s miserable performance in the recent by-elections in the state and suggest measures to revitalize the party and the government, has failed to finish its task before the deadline.

The committee, headed by Roads and Buildings Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao, was supposed to submit an interim report by Monday, but it has decided to defer it to June 21. Apparently, the committee could not get to a conclusion as to what exactly is wrong with the Congress party and the government. The ministers in the panel have their own reasons for the party’s pathetic state.

The committee, which met at the residence of Pithani Satyanarayana, decided to take the opinions of all the MPs, MLAs and other public representatives on July 17, 18 and 19, before finalizing the report. But one doubts whether there is any use from such reports because, fundamentally the party is suffering from bankruptcy of leadership.
