After drawing black with the courts in securing bail, YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy seems to have come to the conclusion that the best way to bring pressure on the Central Bureau of Investigation is through the people.

The YSR Congress party leaders Jupudi Prabhakar Rao and Gautam Reddy on Sunday launched a “padayatra” from Vijayawada to Hyderabad demanding release of Jagan from the jail immediately. The party leaders are planning to create a massive mass movement that would shake the Congress party governments at the state and the Centre so that they would be compelled to take steps for the release of Jagan.

The party leaders have realized that it is difficult to manage the party affairs with Jagan remaining in jail for an indefinite period. At present, the Kadapa MP is able to manage the party affairs by giving instructions to his mother and other leaders from jail itself. However, he might not do it for long as his presence is essential to expand the party network to all parts of the state. The party leaders hope that Jagan might come out after the Presidential elections.
