Balaiah drops gun without firing a bullet!

The announcement by senior actor Nandamuri Balakrishna into active politics appears to have evoked little enthusiasm among not only his brothers and sisters, but also in the entire Telugu Desam Party cadres.

The reason is simple: Balaiah dropped the gun even before firing a single bullet by declaring that his brother-in-law Nara Chandrababu Naidu would continue to be the president of Telugu Desam Party and would become the chief minister if the party comes to power in 2014. This single statement has thoroughly exposed Balaiah’s lack of leadership qualities and that he is not prepared to lead the party from the front, but would like to play only a second fiddle to Naidu.

By saying that he is prepared to take up whatever task that is assigned to him by Naidu, Balaiah has exposed his own weakness. That is why his sister Daggubati Purandeshwari, who was once said she would be very happy to see Balaiah take over the TDP, has now appeared totally disinterested.

“It is purely the internal matter of the TDP. I have absolutely no interest in their affairs,” she said.
