The Telugu Desam Party is on the verge of collapse as one leader after the other has started deserting it because they have lost faith on the party leader N Chandrababu Naidu.

This was the opinion expressed by Nellore MP and YSR Congress party leader Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy. Reacting to the suspension of Gudivada MLA Kodali Srivenkateshwara Rao alias Nani and TDP politburo member Uppuleti Kalpana from the TDP, Rajamohan Reddy said there was nothing wrong in the leaders looking for greener pastures because the party had lost the people’s trust. “The TDP is fast losing its credibility among the people. God alone can save it in the coming days,” Mekapati said.

He felt that the TDP leaders’ outburst against the suspended leaders would further bring down their value. “How can they say that Nani was sold out to the YSR Congress party? Is he so cheap?” he asked.

On the other hand, Kalpana, too, attacked Naidu for suspending her. “I have personal relationship with Mekapati family. I went to him only to call on his family because he had lost his mother recently. If I am a backstabber, what should one call Naidu for ditching his own father-in-law?” she asked.
