The arrest of two Telugu Desam Party leaders in two different crimes in the last two days has created ripples in the state political circles.
On Friday, the Uppal police caught red-handed Sunil Kumar Rathod, son of TDP legislator from Dornakal, Satyavathi Rathod, while purchasing drugs along with Abhijit, son of Karimnagar Municipal Commissioner. Sunil is also an upcoming TDP leader in the constituency. The police arrested them and produced them before the court.
On Thursday night, the Jubilee Hills police arrested B Tech Ravi, a TDP leader from Kadapa who unsuccessfully contested from Pulivendula assembly seat in 2011, while he was indulging in gambling along with his friends at Filmnagar. In all 28 persons were arrested, including brother of labour minister Danam Nagender. They were produced in the Nampally court on Friday and sent to judicial remand.
