After the Telangana protagonists, it is now the turn of Hyderabad strongman and labour minister Danam Nagender to oppose the government’s decision release of Krishna water from Nagarjunasagar to the Krishna delta region for raising paddy.

Danam told the media that it was not proper to release Krishna water from Nagarjunsagar to Krishna delta by depleting water from below the dead storage level.

“It would seriously affect the drinking water supply to Hyderabad. The government should immediately stop release of water from Nagarjunasagar; otherwise, it would cause grave injustice to the people of Hyderabad,” he said.

Danam fumed at Panchayat Raj minister K Jana Reddy for supporting release of water to Krishna delta.

“There has been no water supply to certain colonies on the suburbs of Hyderabad for the last seven days. Under these circumstances, how can Jana justify release of water to delta?” he asked.

He threatened to launch an agitation, if injustice is meted out to Hyderabad. “Even in the allotment of medical seats, Hyderabad is being meted out step-motherly treatment,” he alleged.
