Resistance on the rise for R-Telangana

Though there has been no official communication from the Centre or the Congress high command over the Rayala Telangana proposal, the opposition against the proposal has been growing with every passing day.

On Thursday, Telugu Desam Party leader from Nandikotkur Byreddy Rajasekhara Reddy strongly opposed the alleged conspiracy to divide the Rayalaseema into two regions to form the Rayala Telangana.

“There is no question of allowing the bifurcation of our region. We will form Rayalaseema protection committee with all political parties. We will not hesitate to give up our lives for the cause of united Rayalaseema,” he said.

Earlier, YSR Congress party legislator from Kadapa G Srikanth Reddy also threatened to launch a big agitation for the protection of Rayalaseema.

“It is a mindless proposal put forth by mindless leaders. In the event of any bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, we demand formation of Greater Rayalaseema with parts of Karnataka which we had conceded during formation of Andhra Pradesh,” he said.
