It looks like the Central Bureau of Investigation does not want to give up its aggressive approach in targeting YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy in his alleged illegal assets case, despite the fact that his mother Y S Vijayalakshmi is moving heaven and earth in New Delhi to stall his witch-hunting.
The CBI authorities on Thursday filed a revised petition in the Hyderabad City Civil Court seeking attachment of properties belonging to Jagathi Publications, Indira Television and Janani Infra, promoted by Jaganmohan Reddy. The petition is supplemented by details of properties obtained from various sub-registrar offices in the state.
The CBI had filed a similar petition in the civil court in May, but it was rejected by the court on the ground that there were certain flaws in the petition. Now, the CBI corrected these mistakes and filed a revised petition. Besides, the CBI also sought to attach the properties of Jagan’s close relative N Sunil Reddy and industrialist Koneru Prasad, the accused in Emaar Properties case.
The State government has already issued three orders (GO Nos. 87, 88 and 89) permitting the CBI to attach the properties.
The CBI had already frozen the accounts of Jagathi Publications, Indira Television and Janani Infra, which were named in the first charge sheet filed before the special court on March 31. However, the high court removed this freeze but with certain conditions.
