The arrest of YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy a day before he was supposed to appear before the court and the filing of a supplementary charge sheet a day before the high court was to give verdict on his bail petition clearly shows the vindictive attitude of the Central Bureau of Investigation.
This was the opinion expressed by YSR Congress party leaders. “The CBI’s whole objective is to create a sort of fear psychosis among the Jagan supporters. It was evident from the filing of a supplementary to the first charge-sheet, a day before the judgment on Jagan’s bail plea was due,” says party advisor and Central Governing Council member DA Somayajulu.
He reminded that the CBI, while filing the first charge-sheet itself, openly told the court that many more were yet to come and Jagan would be A-1 in all of them.
“This is a pre-determined notion and CBI has been filing charge-sheets to picture Jagan in poor light and playing mind games by foisting multiple charge-sheets for a single offence. CBI has been carrying out disinformation campaign to mislead the public by leveling baseless allegations in the charge-sheets even as the investigation is not complete,” he said adding that normally a charge-sheet is filed only after the investigation is over.
