Chandrababu Splits Communists!

The differences between the Communist Party of India and CPI (Marxist) have reached a new high, thanks to Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu.

The CPI (M) state unit has been maintaining distance from the TDP for quite some time despite the fact that Naidu has been a close friend of its central leaders including Prakash Karat and Sitaram Yechury.

On the other hand, the CPI has been maintaining friendly relationship with the TDP and has been actively participating in all the programmes organized by the TDP. In the recent Chalo Secretariat programme on farmers’ issues, too, Narayana and Naidu joined hands with each other while Raghavulu kept away from it.

During the recent by-elections, CPI-M state secretary B V Raghavulu is understood to have written to his CPI counterpart K Narayana asking the latter not to have alliance with the TDP. But Narayana not only ignored it but also disclosed it to the media, much to Raghavulu’s embarrassment!
