If the sources in New Delhi are to be believed, daredevil joint director of Central Bureau of Investigation V V Lakhminarayana might be shifted out of Andhra Pradesh shortly.
Lakshminarayana, who is presently investigating several high profile cases in Andhra Pradesh including the alleged illegal assets case of YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, is leaving for South Africa to attend an international summit of investigation agencies on behalf of India. He would be on the foreign tour for a couple of weeks, even as the investigation of the cases he has been handling is at a crucial stage.
Sources said soon after his return to India later this month, Lakshminarayana might be shifted to New Delhi on promotion and would be entrusted with other key responsibilities. A new officer could be posted in Andhra Pradesh as CBI joint director. If it happens, then it would definitely trigger speculations that he might have been shifted under political compulsions. Let us wait and see how far this speculation turns out to be true.
