Seema Leaders Join Voice With T-Leaders!

At a time when the talk over formation of Rayala Telangana by merging parts of Seema with the Telangana region is doing rounds in the political circles, there is a development that has indicated that both the regions share the same concern over Krishna waters.

Even as the Telangana leaders have been opposing the release of water from Srisailam and Nagarjunasagar to Krishna delta, the Rayalaseema leaders, too, joined their voice with the former.

Several Seema leaders including minister Erasu Pratap Reddy, MP S P Y Reddy and MLA Shilpa Mohan Reddy met Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and expressed their concern over release of water from Srisailam depriving the Rayalaseema of its legitimate share in the waters.

They demanded that the first charge on Krishna waters should go to Rayalaseema and only after meeting the requirement of Kurnool farmers, the government should release water to Krishna delta.

“How can the government empty water from Srisailam for Krishna delta? If the water level reaches dead storage, who will come to our rescue?” they asked.

The Telangana leaders, too, are demanding that the water should be released to Krishna delta only after quenching the thirst of Telangana people.
