Dharmana report on July 16: What about action?

The cabinet sub-committee headed by roads and buildings minister Dharmana Prasada Rao, which is presently evaluating the reasons for the Congress party’s miserable performance in the recent by-elections will submit its interim report on July 16.

So far so good; but what is the party going to do with this report? The Congress high command has already obtained several such reports from various quarters, including the intelligence department on what had caused the debacle for the party. So, there is no point in preparing yet another report just for the sake of having one.

Can Dharmana explain the exact reasons why he was not able to get the party win the Narasannapet assembly seat for which his own elder brother Dharmana Krishna Dasu and younger brother Rama Dasu contested?

Well, these reports only gather the dust in the AICC cupboards. What is required for the party now is to work out the strategies for strengthening the party and winning back the confidence of the people. It is better the committee focuses on these aspects, rather than doing post-mortem.
