Pranab Refuses Wears Cong 'khanduwa'

Ever since he was declared as the UPA candidate for Presidential elections, veteran leader Pranab Mukherjee is trying to win over all the parties to mobilize their support.

On Sunday, Pranab came to Hyderabad to seek the support of the political parties for his candidature in the Presidential elections. And in the true spirit of the Presidential candidate, Pranab refused to take the felicitation from the Congress Legislature Party which has invited him to the meeting of Congress MLAs in the Jubilee Hall. What is more, he also refused to wear the tri-colour “khanduwa” (scarf) offered to him by several Congress workers on the ground that he is not a Congressman anymore.

Pranab told the media later that since he was contesting for the President’s post, he was an apolitical person. “In the past, I came to Hyderabad as a Congress party leader and a Central minister. I used to talk about the policies of the party and the government. Now, I cannot do that as I do not belong to any party,” he said.
