With the Telugu Desam Party leaders hinting that party president N Chandrababu Naidu might bring his son Lokesh Naidu into the active politics of the party anytime, an intense debate has been going on in the media circles as to whether the Junior Babu has any qualities to take on YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy at all.

According to a section of the media, Lokesh is a very low-profile and shy person and always to keep himself away from the media glare. “Nobody has ever tested his talkative abilities as there are no instances of him addressing even the business conferences. However, he has learnt the manipulative tactics from his father. At the same time, he maintains that corporate style which does not suit the image of a common man’s politician,” sources said.

On the other hand, Jagan is an aggressive politician. Though he was also not a man of masses till his father Y S Rajasekhara Reddy died, he soon transformed himself into a full-fledged politician. Like his father, he has the abilities to identity himself with the masses, mingling with them easily and does not give an image of a highly successful businessman. His simple dressing and plain talk has attracted the masses.

However, it remains to be seen whether Lokesh has any hidden qualities of a politician. If he can identity himself with the people and their problems, then he can become a successful leader, say sources.
