Senior Telugu film hero Akkineni Nagarjuna made a surprising appearance at Chanchalguda jail on Saturday, leading to speculations that he was calling on YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, presently in judicial custody in connection with his alleged illegal assets case.
However, Nagarjuna is said to have met prominent industrialist Nimmagadda Prasad alias Matrix Prasad, who is also in the judicial custody in Jagan’s case. The actor spent some time with Prasad to discuss their business dealings before leaving the jail without talking to the media.
It may be mentioned that Nagarajuna is one of the equity holders in Nimmagadda Prasad’s business firm Matrix Enport Private Limited which in turn is the promoter of controversial VANPIC project in Guntur and Prakasam districts. After Prasad’s arrest, Nagarjuna had tried to withdraw his shares from Matrix. Interestingly, Prasad is also the chairman of Maa Television Network in which Nagarjuna also has considerable share. May be Nagarjuna wants to disassociate from the Matrix group in the wake of recent controversies.
