Congress party president Sonia Gandhi is facing a peculiar situation in so far as the affairs of the Congress in Andhra Pradesh are concerned.

With several leaders from different parts of the state meeting her one after the other in the last three days and giving different pictures to her on the party’s position in the state, Sonia is in a state of confusion as to what to do. But according to political observers, one thing is certain: she has decided to formulate her own view after listening to the party leaders from the state directly, rather than going by the reports submitted by party in-charge Ghulam Nabi Azad or observer Vayalar Ravi.

Sources said she has two agenda before her: whether to completely overhaul the party structure in the state, including changing the chief minister and the PCC president, or resolve the Telangana issue so as to save the party at least in this part of the state.

“Going by her responses, it appears she has already made up her mind on these two issues. But which one she would take up first is a million dollar question,” a party leader observed.
