Telangana Rashtra Samithi, which has remained unusually silent when there was a raging debate on the Rayala Telangana issue as a solution to the separate statehood demand for the last two days, has finally come out with a meek reaction on Friday.
TRS legislator T Harish Rao said there was no official proposal from anybody from the Congress on the Rayala Telangana so far. “So, how can we react when there is no official statement from the Congress party? Our stand has been very clear right from the beginning: we want Telangana state with 10 districts and Hyderabad as its capital,” he said.
Harish, however, said there was no question of giving up Khammam from the Telangana state and at the same time, merging Kurnool with it.
The TRS leader accused the State government of diverting Krishna water from Srisailam to Rayalaseema, while depriving the Telangana districts of irrigation facilities. He demanded the resignation of Irrigation Minister P Sudershan Reddy, as people of Telangana were ashamed of having a minister from the region.
