Did Jagan Refuse To Meet Sangma?

Did YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy refuse to meet former Lok Sabha speaker and Presidential candidate of National Democratic Alliance P A Sangma when the latter came to Chanchalguda jail a couple of days ago?

There is a talk going on in the media circles that Sangma could not meet Jagan not because the jail authorities had refused to allow him into the jail, but because the Kadapa MP himself was not willing to meet him.

The jail authorities reportedly asked Sangma to come to the jail after 12 noon, because they were supposed to produce Jagan in the court through video conferencing method between 11 am and 12 noon.

According to these sources, when the jail authorities conveyed to Jagan that Sangma wanted to meet him, he refused to give the audience. Apparently, Jagan thought it would send a wrong message to the people that he was supporting the NDA candidate, since he was opposed to the Congress party. At the same time, he cannot tell Sangma that he would not like to meet him, because it would be too impolite. So, he requested the jail authorities to deny permission to Sangma on one pretext or the other, Sangma had no option but to meet his mother Vijayalakshmi and seek her party’s support.

Even Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao used the same tactic. Though he was very much in Hyderabad, the TRS leaders conveyed to Sangma that KCR was out of station.
