At a time when the proposal for Rayala Telangana as a solution to the vexed state bifurcation demand is doing rounds in New Delhi, the Telangana Joint Action Committee has firmly rejected the proposal, saying it is not acceptable to the people of Telangana at any cost.
TJAC chairman Prof M Kodandaram, who held a meeting of the TJAC on Thursday, said the proposal was a conspiracy hatched by certain Rayalaseema leaders to retain their control over the Telangana region. “It is unfortunate that some Congress leaders from Telangana have also become party to this proposal. We will declare all such leaders as betrayers of Telangana and take up agitations if there is any such proposal,” he said.
He called upon the people of Telangana to launch agitation programmes against Rayala Telangana proposal and submit memoranda to the district collectors. He also asked them to burn the effigies of those leaders who made the proposal.
