Vijayamma to replace Chiru in assembly!

YSR Congress party, which had hitherto only two MLAs in the state assembly and was relegated to the back benches, will now get a respectable position in the House.

Now that the party has strength of 17 MLAs in the assembly, it would be treated as a recognized opposition party with a floor leader status to their honorary president Y S Vijayalakshmi. She is all set to get elected as the YSRCP Legislature Party leader.  Hitherto, she was sitting somewhere in the last but one row in the assembly in the opposition. Now, she will get a seat in the front row along with the other floor leaders.

Most probably, she would be given the seat of Chiranjeevi, who used to occupy the front seat in the capacity of Praja Rajyam Party floor leader. Since the PRP is no more and has been merged with the Congress, there will be no separate place for Chiranjeevi group in the assembly and their place would now be given to YSRCP legislators.

What is more, the YSRCP would get a separate office for the legislature party and a block in the assembly, apart from an exclusive chamber for Vijayalakshmi in the lobbies. In the past, Vijayamma made a representation to Speaker Nadendla Manohar seeking allotment of a separate chamber for her in the assembly lobbies, so that she could take rest during the break-hours and prepare notes for her speech in the assembly. But she was not given such a facility, though one-man parties like Lok Satta, too, was given a separate room. Now, Manohar has no option but to give the due facility to her.
