Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu’s off the cuff remark before the media that his son Lokesh Naidu is playing his own small role in the party affairs has given rise to the speculations that the young boy might take plunge into the full-time party activity any time.
The TDP president said Lokesh was right now giving him suggestions and ideas on the party affairs.
“Right now, he is busy with his business activities. It is for him to decide on his future plans,” Naidu told the media in an informal chat on Tuesday.
According to party sources, Naidu made a similar comment before the party leaders during the review meetings. This has led to the talk among the party leaders as to whether Naidu wants to bring in Lokesh to lead the party. Apparently, he has realized that the chances of the party coming to power in 2014 appear to be bleak unless there is a change in the leadership. And he is of the firm view that Balakrishna or Junior NTR would not make good leaders because they depend too much on their filmy glamour, which is not suitable for the present day politics.
So, it is better to train Lokesh in the next two years and groom him into a future leader. And who knows Lokesh might turn out to be another Akhilesh Yadav in the coming days?
