As the counting of votes for bypolls in 18 assembly seats and Nellore Lok Sabha seat began at 8 am on Friday, YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy seems to be growing restive over the lack of information flow into Chanchalguda jail in which he is lodged in connection with the illegal assets case.
The jail authorities have banned mobile phones and other modes of communication in the jail. Even the private television channels are banned in the jail and only Doordarshan channel is allowed. As everybody knows, Doordarshan reflects only official view and it does not give minute-to-minute details of result trends.
Naturally, Jagan is getting irritated over the lack of facilities in jail. He reportedly protested with the jail authorities for lack of cable TV facilities in the jail. He wanted that he be provided with Sakshi TV network to know the updates of the results. However, the jail authorities refused to provide the facility as the rules do not permit. They, however, said they would provide regular updates for him unofficially.
