If the Telugu Desam Party sources are to be believed, party MLA from Gudivada in Krishna district Kodali Nani is all set to take a plunge into the YSR Congress party sooner or later.
According to party sources, Nani has already got in touch with Jagan, but the latter asked him to wait for some time before defecting to his party.
Nani will be followed by Vallabhaneni Vamsi, the TDP’s urban unit president in Vijayawada, who has been totally unhappy with the way the TDP president had treated him in the recent episode. And both Vamsi and Nani are close friends of Kapu leader Vangaveeti Radha who had recently joined the YSR Congress. If these two leaders join, then the entire TDP in Vijayawada would be more or less wiped out.
Sources said the main reason for Nani’s decision to quit the TDP is senior actor Nandamuri Balakrishna, who wants to get into electoral politics by 2014.
TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu is said to have told Nani that he might have to vacate his seat and move to the adjacent constituency, since Balakrishna wants to contest from Gudivada, the native of his father and late chief minister N T Rama Rao. But Nani has been nurturing Gudivada constituency for the last two terms and so, it will not be so easy to move to another constituency.
It will be interesting to see whether Nani will contest against Balakrishna in Gudivada on YSR Congress party ticket and win the seat.
