Christian evangelist Anil Kumar, brother-in-law of YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, on Monday denied the reports that Rakshna Steels with which the AP Mineral Development Corporation cancelled its agreement on Bayyaram iron ore mines, belonged to him.
In a media statement, Anil said he had nothing to do with the Rakshana Steels.
In the past, too, there were reports that it was my benami company. But the company management had clarified that its executive director Anil Kumar was different and that I was no way concerned with the company. Yet, the Telugu Desam Party and its affiliated media have been resorting to slinging mud at me and dragging my name into the project, he said.
The evangelist announced that he would file defamation case against the TDP and the media for dragging his name into the deal.
I feel pity with the TDP for trying to gain political mileage in the by-elections and hoping that it would get some votes by tarnishing the image of my family a day before the polling, Anil said.
