North America Telugu Society (NATS), the premier service oriented national Telugu Organization started a permanent free clinic in New Jersey. In the past, NATS conducted several Medical camps across the country. In Tri-state alone, they conducted Medical camps in New Jersey, New York and Philadelphia.
In tune with the increasing need for Medical help for visiting parents from India, Students, under privileged and for Uninsured people, NATS decided to establish a Free Health Clinic (that runs throughout the 52 weeks of the year) in New Jersey.
This Free Clinic is located at 440 State St, Perth Amboy, NJ 08861.
NATS Charity Clinic was launched by New Jersey Deputy Speaker Mr.Upendra Chivukula. Mr.Upendra praised the service initiatives of NATS and stressed the growing need for Medical help across the country. There was a Blood camp drive by Red Cross and several NATS volunteers donated blood to Red Cross. Also, a Bone Marrow drive was conducted on this occasion and there was over whelming response from the donors.
The following medical services were offered in the clinic on the opening day - Vision Screening, Blood Pressure Check, Blood Sugar Check, Dental Screening, Nutritional Advice etc to patients.
NATS President Mr.Ravi Madala spoke on this occasion and briefed NATS service initiatives across the country and also listed out the recent services extended through NATS 24 hours help line - 1-888-4-TELUGU.
NATS Vice President Mr.Gangadhar Desu who initiated this cause spoke in detail about the services offered at this Free Hospital and also listed out the plan and vision for this project. Renowned Ghazals singer, Mr.Ghazal Srinivas attended as chief guest for this event and briefed about the recent service initiatives taken up by NATS in India - Uddanam Project and Seva Project.
RED CROSS appreciated the overwhelming response from NATS volunteers and thanked all the blood donors.
All 3 local Telugu association presidents in the Tri State Area (TLCA President Mr.Nagendra Gupta, TFAS President Mrs. Manju Bhargava and TAGDV President Mr.Ravi Potluri) and their Executive committees attended this function and extended their solidarity for this noble cause. Brahmani Kanikicharla, Ratna Rao Kanikicharla and Subba Rao Maturi coordinated with doctors. NATS Directors Mr.Vimal Kavuru, Mr.Srinivas Maddali, Mrs Aruna Ganti participated in this event.
