With YSR Congress party honorary president Y S Vijayalakshmi taking a plunge into the election campaign for the party in the by-elections along with her daughter Sharmila, people have started comparing them with Congress president Sonia Gandhi and her daughter Priyanka Gandhi.

Both Sonia and Priyanka had done extensive campaign in the recent elections in Rae Bareli and Amethi constituencies the recent Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. While Sonia Gandhi could not deliver her speech ex tempore at any public meeting but had only parrotted sentences from the written script, Priyanka Gandhi’s speech was too unimpressive, though she had a lot of charm in her face and appearance. And both of them had failed to fetch any benefits to the Congress party which had lost miserably in both the constituencies.

On the other hand, Vijayamma and Sharmila are totally different in their style and approach towards the people. Though they are totally new to politics and are addressing public meetings for the first time, they were quite impressive in their speeches. Particularly Vijayalakshmi is doing a commendable job with her ex tempore speeches that could trigger an emotional sentiment among the people, while Sharmila was an instant hit with her powerful words and charming appearance. Needless to say, they get a lot of credit if YSR Congress party wins the seats in which they are campaigning.
