The large scale arrests of YSR Congress party activists in the name of planning violent incidents in the event of Jagan’s arrest are nothing but part of the conspiracy hatched by the government to defame party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.

Making these allegations, YSR Congress party leaders Putta Pratap Reddy, Raj Thakur, Adam Vijay Kumar and Kotamreddy Vinay Reddy refuted the charges made by the police that they had sent SMSes to the party workers across the state asking them to indulge in violence if Jagan is arrested. “In fact, the SMSes were sent by the police themselves in our name, only to defame us and project us anti-social elements,” they said.

The allegations of YSR Congress party leaders are surprising because it is easy to detect from where the SMSes have originated. They should have come out with proper evidence before making allegations against the police. The needle of suspicion will definitely go towards them as Jagan himself talked about the possibility of violence, thereby indirectly instigating his supporters.
