Are Kiran's Wife And Kids Christians?

Even as YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy’s entry into Tirumala without signing the mandatory faith declaration form continues to remain a major political controversy, maverick former minister and senior Congress leader P Shankar Rao kicked up yet another controversy over the religion of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy.

Shankar Rao on Monday pointed out that the chief minister’s wife Radhika Reddy and children Nikhilesh Reddy and Neeharika Reddy were Christians. “When Kiran went to Tirumala to present silk clothes to Lord Venkateshwara the other day, his wife and children too accompanied him. Did they sign the faith declaration form? If they did not, why are these leaders making a controversy out of Jagan’s visit? Is there a different rule for CM’s wife and Jagan?” Shankar Rao asked.

Describing Kiran as a “bachcha” (child), the former minister expressed all sympathies for Jagan stating that the Congress government was unnecessarily harassing “a kid who lost his father.” He pointed out that it was Kiran Kumar Reddy who had taken the initiative in mobilizing signatures of the Congress MLAs to make Jagan as the chief minister immediately after YSR’s death.

Well, Shankar Rao seems to have forgotten that it was he who had taken the initiative in harassing Jagan by moving the high court against his assets. And based on Shankar Rao’s petition only, the high court had ordered a CBI inquiry. Now that he lost his cabinet post, the former minister is shedding crocodile tears for Jagan.
