Health minister and rebel Congress leader D L Ravindra Reddy has described chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy as a real covert of YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy within the Congress party.

Reacting to his detractors’ allegation that he was acting as covert for other parties in the Congress, Ravindra Reddy said if at all there was any covert in the Congress, it is Kiran himself.

“Being the chief minister of the state, he has not made any statement to criticize Jagan, when the latter was going hammer and tongs against the Congress party. Is it not true that Kiran had requested not to disqualify Jagan’s followers G Srikanth Reddy and Srinivasulu? If he has guts, let him make a strong comment against Jagan,” DLR demanded.

He said he was prepared for any inquiry into the alleged irregularities in his department.

“I have not done any lobbying for the cabinet berths. But Kiran had made secret trips to Delhi at least 48 times when he was the Speaker and lobbied for the CM post,” he said.
