Do you know the last words of legendary actress Savitri? It was in Mysore when she learnt that she was betrayed by the wife of a Kannada actor. It seems that Savitri in her hay days gave a box of jewelry to that lady and asked her to put in safe with her.
With the venom spilled by time, Savitri lost all the glory, property and health and got ready to act in any small role offered to her. That was only for her maintenance. She got addicted to boozing out of depression. Then she went to Mysore for a shooting. She was given a room in a lodge. She recalled about the jewelry given to that lady and called her. When she came to her, she asked for the box. The lady replied, "When did you give to me?" Then Savitri asked, "Didn't I give you?". That's all. Those are her last words. She was collapsed and later she was taken to a general hospital as private hospital people denied to admit her.
Knowing that actress Lakshmi went to that hospital and reprimanded the hospital people for keeping Savitri on the floor for not finding any bed. Finally she was given a bed. She didn't talk at all.
