SVET Fund Raising in New Jersey

“Education is the greatest gift and do your part to help those in need” is the theme of Sunday afternoon December 4th gathered at the Royal Alberts Palace Fords NJ as a part of Sree Vidyanikethan Educational Trust Fund Raising with Padmasree Dr. Mohan Babu hosted by the North East Region NRI’s based Indian Telugu community under the leadership of Vijay Bandla .This program is supported by almost all Telugu Associations in North east region.

Vijay Bandla extended a warm welcome to over 350 NY/NJ based NRIs besides the Chief guest Padmasree Dr. Mohan Babu and his wife Nirmala Mohanbabu , film star Mr. Manchu Vishnu Vardhan, film star Mr.Manchu Manoj and Producer, actor and popular TV Hostess Manchu Lakshmi and Andy Srinivasan. On top of whole Manchu family noted telugu film writers Kona Venkat and BVS Ravi were also present along with Sree Vidyanikethan Principal Mr. Gopal Rao.

There was plenty of clippings and entertainment from the popular movies of the "Collection King". Mr. Sridhar Korsapati took the honor of introducing Mr. Vishnu Manchu and invited him onto the stage. Mr. Vishnu Manchu provided the history and sequence of events leading to the establishment of Sree Vidyaniketan and various scholarship programs. A short video was shown reflecting the growth of the institute and the changing landscape of the student needs.

Mr. Narendar Yasa introduced Dr.Mohanbabu with a Boquet and addressing the gathering Dr. Mohan Babu narrated his childhood story and hardship he has gone through before getting a chance to act in films. He has committed to help 25% of the economically underprivileged students with free education. Dr. Mohan Babu also recognized the efforts of Vijay Bandla in brining the community together onto a single platform to help for a great cause.

Several individuals pledged cash donations, school facilities and gold medals in support of the request by Dr. Mohan Babu. The Prominent and notable donation came from Mr. Narendar Yasa who recognized efforts of Sree Vidyanikethan School and also from Devang Patel who just donated for the cause despite being a gujarati and non telugu speaking. Dr.Ramesh Peramsetty who flew from west coast only for this event also donated generously and applauded the efforts by Dr. Mohanbabu for poor students.

Prominent Leaders of Telugu community Valiveti Brahmaji ,Vimal Kavuru and Vasireddy Vijay felicitated Dr. Mohan Babu with mementos, shawls and fresh flower bouquets in true Indian style.

The informative and purposeful afternoon which extended until 6pm came to an end with vote of thanks by Mr. Vijay Bandla to the distinguished guest Dr. Mohan Babu, Mr. Manchu Vishnu Vardhan, the audience for their attendance, donors for their generosity, community leaders from TANA, NATA, ATA, NATS , volunteers Damu Gadela , Dharma Reddy Boddu Ravichandra Naidu and Narendar Yasa who spent countless hours of valuable time and Royal Alberts Palace for providing tasty food, excellent facilities and great meeting ambiance. Mr. Vijay Bandla also thanked the sponsors Coriander & Abhiruchi restaurant for their support and the media partner TV5, TV9 for providing great coverage of the event, also specially appreciated Dr. Ramesh Peramsetty , Sridhar Korsapati ,Uday Chapalamadugu, Satish Mandalapu for making it to event.

Other prominent telugus that donated generously are Mr.Srinivas Reddy Gade, Mr.Anil Reddy Ravuri, Mr.Mohan Reddy Talamati, Mr.Surendar Reddy, Mr.Sridhar Pentyala,Mr.Subba Arumilli, Mr.Krishnamohan , Mr.Satish, Mr.Sunil, Mr.Mohankrishna Mannava,Mr.Gangadhar Deshu, Mr.Maddali Srinivas, Mr.Naveen Parupalli, Mr.Mahendar Korrapati,Mr.Srikanth Aitharaju, Mr.Gavi Narra,Mr.Srihari Vutukuri,Dr. Sridhar Goli, Dr. Srujni Goli, SS Reddy, Vasudeva Reddy, Susheel Reddy, Jagadish Vajha, Prasad Manne,Ravi Potluri,TVD Prasad,Ram Seshiah Buddi.

Several kids and school going teenagers surprised Dr.Mohan babu by donating few hundred dollars from their pocket money.
