TV9 Ravi Prakash's 'Dalit Talk' Disappointed TANA

Recently, the Telugu Association of North America (TANA) had its annual celebrations and many noted dignitaries and celebrities were invited from India. One among them was TV9 Ravi Prakash, the man behind the news channel TV9.

While all the delegates shared their thoughts and experiences, Ravi Prakash did his bit as well but then one statement of his raised eyebrows and created inconvenience. Apparently, Ravi Prakash said “Soon I would like to see a Dalit person in a key position of TANA”.

Those who heard this said “The very essence of TANA is bringing about all the Telugu people together irrespective of caste, culture and create a bond of togetherness. And someone like Ravi Prakash coming here and talking about caste related things is absurd. This is disappointing!!”

However, inside sources reveal the thought was not of Ravi Prakash. Incidentally, buzz is that he was coaxed into saying such lines by a group of Dalit members who were present in the congregation. But then, for someone who is known to give politically correct statements, many felt there is a time and place for anything and TANA was definitely not the forum to hear such statements.
