Drought And Famines In Andhra Pradesh?

Well, the time seems to have come for the jinx to break. It is often said that when a congressman is in power, the rains come on time and Andhra Pradesh is green and fertile. However, this time things seem to have taken a wrong route.

The much awaited monsoons that were due to hit the state have now withered away and this has landed the farmers in deep crisis. The weather experts have been saying that the monsoon will now arrive in August or September but this would mean just one month for the rains.

Many are said to be getting anxious and given the kind of concrete jungle that Hyderabad and other places are turning into, it won’t be long before water wars will start. This will be a challenge for the government not just in agriculture sector but also in urban areas.

Adding to recession, if famines and drought become burden on people, the things go worse. Right now, even the power cuts are frequent and disturbing. The expenses of food grains are touching the sky. Fears of diseases like Swine Flu are also in vogue. We have to see how the condition goes better down the line.
