What top tech CEOs said about India as they met PM Modi

Chief executives of top technology companies of Silicon Valley including Satya Nadella of Microsoft and Sundar Pichai of Google spoke at a panel discussion on Indian economy and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Digital India” initiative.

Modi also spoke at the event which was anchored by Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen. Other speakers included John T Chambers of CISCO and Paul E Jacob of Qualcomm.

As Modi spoke on how technology was driving social change in India, the CEOs talked about how technology is changing lives across the world and emphasised on how the Modi-led government has propelled the growth of the sector in India.

Satya Nadella
“We have plans to take technology to 500,000 villages in India. We will bring world class infrastructure to India and respecting digital securities is key milestone for us.”

“Our plan is to take low cost broadband connectivity across India.”

Sundar Pichai
