TPAD's Dallas Batukamma & Dasara Sambaralu attended by over 5000

Dallas,TX: On Saturday, September 27, Dallas Bathukamma-Dasara organized by Telangana Peoples Association of Dallas (TPAD) in Association with Telangana Development Forum (TDF), was jubilantly celebrated by over 5000 Telugu and Non-Telugu people.

Telangana Peoples Association of Dallas (TPAD) is a community non-profit organization based on vision “Preserve the Culturally rich Telangana identity. Preserve and promote classic and ancient Telugu language to next generations.

Celebrate Telangana festivals in an integrated & inclusive manner. Preserve & promote rich heritage and family values to next generations.

Support charity in the country of residence (United States) and in the State of Telangana in India. Facilitate business and professional networking, based on core principles “Inspiration, Interaction & Inclusion”.

The TPAD team has an extensive talent and positive energy to conduct community events to” Bring the Community together”.

The event was chaired by Rae Kalvala and co-chaired by Ram Annadi, supported by Ajay Reddy, Raghuveer Bandaru, Updender Telugu, Mahendar Kamireddy, Vijay Pitta, Raj Gondhi, Janaki Mandadi, Madhavi Sunkireddy, Sharada Singireddy,  Ashok Kondala, Pavan Gangadhara, Praveen Billa, Satish Janumpalli, Rajendar Reddy Todigala, Srinivas Vemula, Srini Gangadhara, Anand Kathroju, Sudhakar Kalasani, Nikhil Tummala, Ravi Bajjuri, Satya Perikari, Sumana Bingi, Manju Reddy Muppidi, Sridevi Nuvvula,  Kiran Vuddandapu,Sudhir Lingareddy, Madhukar Sama, Vamshidhar Sudini, Yugandhar Methuku, Karan poReddy, Surya Batchu, Sridhar Vemuala and 120 volunteers and  community advisors Venu Bhagyanagar, Ravishankar Patel and Devendar Reddy.

Traditional songs were sung by the women, while playing Bathukamma, along with Smt. A.P Rajeshwari, who has attended the event with her husband, the member of parliament of Mahabubnagar, Shri A.P Jitendar Reddy, Member of Parliament, Chief guest for the event.

Event Chair Rao Kalvala welcomed all attendees including Chief Guest and Special guests, talked about TPAD’s vision and principles, and explained the community services TPAD has been conducted so far.

The event started with Bathuakamma with over 100 bathukammas, The organizers conducted Bathukamma Nimajjanam nearby stream in Oak Point Park. Jammi Pooja was performed and the procession of God Rama and Sri Venkateshwara was carried out in a beautifully decorated Pallaki lit up with LED lights. The chief guest and special guests have participated in the procession, along with all the participants.

Performances by popular Telugu singers lead by Deepu, AnajanaSowmya, Prudvi and creative dance by Ravi Teja and Pinky highlighted the festivity.

The kolatam was perfomed by the visiting Dignitary couple, MP, A.P Jitendar Reddy and his wife Smt. A.P Rajeshwari, along with the organizers stood out as the special moments of the cultural performances.

Speaking on the occasion, MP, A.P . Jitendar Reddy, the chief guest of the evening conveyed the good wishes to the entire Telugu community of DFW and all the participants who have turned up to take part in the celebrations, without regard to regional identities. The Chief guest has also conveyed the good wishes on behalf of the Chief Minister of Telanaga, KC. ChandraShekar Rao, to the entire Telugu community residing in DFW area.

Shri. AP Jithender Reddy highlighted the investment opportunities in Hyderabad and Telangana state. He expressed his strong confidence that the states of Telangana and Andhrapradesh have lot of potential to grow and prosper and requested NRI Telugu community to contribute towards the development.

Special guests for the evening include Ex. Member of Parliament Dr. Atmacharan Reddy, TDF chairman Gade Gopal Reddy.

The event was supported by local and national organizations IANT, TANTEX, TANA, ATA, NATA, NATS, TEA, KalaVahini, LMA, and ManaBadi.

The determination of TPAD to deliver the mega event with the best quality is adequately displayed in its decision to reach out to Tollywood’s singer, music composer and founder of Little Musician Academy, Ramachari Komanduri, who gracefully agreed to advice the TPAD’s committee, which made a difference to the cultural performances of the event.

The TPAD organizers and volunteers worked together with great pride, passion and dedication to bring festivity to the hearts of DFW community.

Some of the festival highlights include –

  • As Chief Guest Mr. AP. Jithender Reddy, Member of Parliament of India, shared the vision of Golden Telangana, and the message from Telangana CM Shri. KCR
  • The event was attended by well over 5000 people
  • The event started with Bathukamma festivity, where hundreds of women and young ladies came with  Bathukammas and played Bathukamma with melodious songs with prayers to goddess gowri.
  • Dasara festival started with jammi puja  and hundreds of people took part in the procession carrying lord Rama’s idols in pallaki.
  • Very authentic Hyderabadi food stalls and non food vendors created Mela environment
  • Popular singers from Hyderabad Anjana Sowmya, Deepu and Prudhvi entertained the crowd  by singing Tollywood and bollywod songs.
  • Dance performances by local talent brought great excitement.
  • During fireworks a song written by Shri Rama Chary, TPAD Cultural Advisor was played to sing the glory of TPAD

The event concluded with vote of thanks by Ram Annadi, Co-chair.

The event created very memorable impressions, and great appreciation for TPAD.
