Telangana ACB grills TDP leaders in cash-for-vote case

Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Telangana on Monday questioned four leaders of youth and student wings of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in the cash-for-vote case.

The ACB also grilled the driver of TDP legislator A. Revanth Reddy, the main accused in the case.

After day-long questioning at ACB headquarters at Banjara Hills, the agency asked the five to appear again on Tuesday.

Those quizzed include Pullarao Yadav, Pradeep Chowdary and Manoj of Telugu Yuvatha, Sudheer of Telugu Nadu Students Federation (TNSF) and Revanth Reddy's driver Raghvendra Reddy.

The ACB on Sunday has issued notices to them to appear before it and pass on whatever information they had.

Besides arresting four accused including two legislators of TDP, the agency so far questioned 10 party leaders or their aides.

Revanth Reddy and two others were arrested by the ACB on May 31 while they were offering Rs.50 lakh as a bribe to nominated member Elvis Stephenson reportedly to induce him to vote for TDP-BJP candidate.

Two aides of the legislator were also arrested in the trap laid on a complaint by Stephenson.

Another TDP legislator Sandra Venkata Veeraiah was arrested this month.

All the accused were granted bail by a court.
