NATS (North America Telugu Society) 5th convention was organized on a grand scale in Chicago. This 3 day NATS festival (America Telugu Sambaralu) was one of it's kind and it will be remembered as one of the successful Telugu Conventions organized in USA. There was an overwhelming response with packed crowds all 3 days.
The concept of NATS Chicago convention is 'Vasudhika Kutumbam'. America Telugu Sambaralu, true to it's name, the 3 days were full of celebrations with festive atmosphere - Galaxy of movie starts, dignitaries, leaders, literary, spiritual, live music, great ambiance, delicious food etc.
The 3 day NATS 2017 convention in Chicago started with Banquet night and it received amazing response.
NATS Chicago Conference Chairman Ravi Achanta welcomed the attendees and thanked everyone for their support to the convention.
NATS Board Secretary Sreedhar Appasani introduced each Board member in a very engaging and interesting way.
Later, NATS Board Chairman Sam Maddali spoke about NATS Sambaralu and thanked Telugu Community for their support to NATS initiatives.
NATS awards were presented to renowned entrepreneurs, artists and community service people and they were richly felicitated by NATS.
On the next day, NATS America Telugu Sambaralu was inaugurated in traditional style.
Viswayogi Sri Viswamji did the inauguration honors which was greatly attended by several spiritual gurus. Later, Sudharshana Yagam was performed wishing success, health, wealth and happiness to all Telugus across the globe.
Several American leaders - Raja Krishnamurthy, First South Indian Congressman, Aruna Miller, Schaumburg and Napperville Mayors attended the inauguration ceremony and conveyed their good wishes to NATS.
NATS Secreterary Ramesh Nuthalapati introduced NATS Executive Committee and NATS chapters.
Later, NATS President Mohan Krishna Mannava delivered a powerful speech mentioning the various service activities NATS has been doing in U.S.A, Andhra and Telangana.
He listed out many NATS service initiatives like NATS 24 Hrs helpline (1-888-4-Telugu or [email protected]), NATS Free Insurance, NATS School Adoption programs etc and he requested support and cooperation from everyone to NATS service activities.
Several Film stars like Stylish Star Allu Arjun, Young Hero Nikhil, Dialogue King Sai Kumar, Popular actors Ali, Prudhvi, Subba Raju, etc participated in the convention and entertained the audience. Several Film Heroines Pooja Hegde, Neethu Chandra, Hamsa Nandini, Mannar Chopra, Vimala Raman etc glittered in the 3 Day convention. Allu Arjun received great response from Kids and youth.
There was great response for Prudhvi's dialogues on Nandamuri Bala Krishna which immensely satisfied Balayya's fans. The comedy skits of Ali and Jabardasth team was a laughing riot. Dialogue King Sai Kumar's powerful dialogues got a roaring response.
World record winner in Spell bee, wonder kid Akash Ukoti mesmerized everyone with his exceptional skills. Sri Jonnavithula Ramalingeswara rao, Sri Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad and Sri Anand Kuchibotla presented the award of 'Dhaarana Vaamana' to Akash Ukkoti.
Popular Artist Moka Sathish Kumar's painting on Legend NTR exclusively, with only paper received great response, the artist spent well over thousand hours for this NTR's paper art painting and everyone appreciated his impeccable skill.
The literary forum and spiritual forums comprising of Sri Mandali Buddha Prasad, Sri Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad, Sri Jonnavithula Ramalingeswara Rao, Samala Ramesh Babu, Namini Subramanyam Naidu etc received great response.
Several programs which highlight Telugu culture, literature and arts - Rudra Sankaram, Annamacharya Keerthanalu, Sound of Easha, Venkatachala nilayam, Bala Ramayanam, Bhuvana Vijayam etc programs thoroughly impressed Telugu literary and spiritual program lovers.
Alumni of several popular colleges like - JKC college, KLC College, Nagabhairava College, etc were organized and many attendees cherished their old memories. Andhra Pradesh Assembly Deputy Speaker Sri Mandali Buddha Prasad praised the NRI Telugus for their efforts to preserve the Telugu language and culture.
Telanagana TDP Working President Revanth Reddy spoke to a thundering response with whistles and claps from audience, he wished that Telugu NRIs should play a prominent role in American Politics and should be part of governance for the betterment of Indians in America.
Several leaders from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana - Mandali Buddha Prasad, Revanth Reddy, L Ramana, Y.V.B.Rajendra Prasad, E Peddi Reddy, Mannava Subba Rao, Kalattur Narayanaswamy, Malreddy Ranga Reddy, etc attended NATS convention and interacted with people regarding the development activities in both Telugu states.
The live music entertainment by Indian Idol Revanth, popular singers Vandemathram Srinivas, Sunitha, Sahithi and several other popular singers received tremendous applause.
One of the highlight was music - there was live music for 2 days unlike the traditional way of 1 day live music. Audience thoroughly enjoyed many chart busters and danced to many foot tapping numbers on both days.
Special mention should be made about food. Food was the #1 highlight of the convention. All 3 days, food was the major highlight with mouth watering traditional Telugu dishes and everyone showered appreciation for the delicious dishes.
The mouth watering huge menu with over 40 items was a feast every day. There was great amount of appreciation for wide variety of delicious dishes served every day.
NATS Board Chairman Sam Maddali announced that NATS 2019 convention would be held in Seattle and NATS 2021 convention will be held in New Jersey.
NATS 3 days convention ended with Legend NTR's evergreen patriotic song 'Punyabhoomi Nadesam Namo Namami' which received standing ovation from the attendees.
Overall, NATS convention received a tremendous response from all the audience due to wonderful programs, meticulous planning & execution, great ambiance and delicious food. Thousands of people across America and from both Telugu states thronged to Chicago to be part of NATS America Telugu Sambaralu.
NATS President Mohan Krishna Mannava and NATS Chicago Convention Convener Ravi Achanta thanked everyone for making it a huge success.
