Jagan meets President, demands action against Naidu

New Delhi/Hyderabad: YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy on Tuesday called on President Pranab Mukherjee in New Delhi and demanded action against Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in the cash-for-vote scam.

Jagan, as the leader is popularly known, told reporters that he submitted a memorandum seeking action against Naidu.

The Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh demanded that Naidu be made the prime accused in the case, and arrested as he was the mastermind.

Jagan said that by stating that his phone was tapped, Naidu confessed that he spoke to nominated Telangana MLA Elvis Stephenson to lure him to vote for the TDP-BJP candidate in the Telangana legislative council elections.

The YSRCP chief said Naidu lured each MLA by offering Rs.5 crore to Rs.20 crore. He said Naidu has now been caught red-handed while speaking to Stephenson.

Jagan will meet Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday and has also sought an appointment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

An audio tape of Naidu's alleged conversation with Stephenson surfaced on Sunday.

TDP's Telangana MLA A. Revanth Reddy was arrested on May 31 while offering Rs.50 lakh to Stephenson.
