FIRs against Modi, Naidu, Venkaiah?

If the argument of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee is valid, FIRs should be filed against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu for cheating the people on granting special category status to AP, thereby forcing innocent people to commit suicide.

APCC chief N Raghuveera Reddy on Saturday led a delegation to Raj Bhavan to meet Governor E S L Narasimhan and submitted a representation to him stating that the Congress leaders filed cheating cases with different police stations against the three leaders and said that the police had not initiated any action yet.

The Congress leaders also pointed out that at least five persons had resorted to the extreme step of taking away their lives by committing suicide greatly disappointed at the dual standards of the Centre as well as the State Government.

“This apart, addressing the election rallies in Visakhapatnam and Tirupati during the last polls, Modi, Venkaiah and Chandrababu had promised the people that if the NDA comes to power the status will certainly be accorded to the State. Now they are not honouring their words which amounts to cheating the public,” they alleged in the memorandum.

They wanted the Governor to direct the police to act on these complaints as the Prime Minister, the Chief Minister and the Union Minister are adopting double standards and are issuing conflicting statements creating confusion among the public and are not honouring the promise made by the earlier UPA government.
