Bodies of all 24 Hyderabad students recovered

The 24 B.Tech students had drowned in River Beas in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh on June 8, 2014. The operation to search for the bodies of the students ended with recovery of bodies of two girl students.

The search team has managed to recover the bodies of all 24 students nad only a co-tour guide Pralahad is missing.

Police said the bodies of Dasari Srinidhi and Kasarla Rishita Reddy were seen floating in the Pandoh Dam reservoir on Monday.

A co-tour guide and 24 engineering students were drowned after the sudden release of water by Larji Hydropower Project authorities.

The search team was made up of 600 men of NDRF, Army, Navy, Police, ITBP and 50 expert divers.

The High Court of HP has taken suo moto notice of the news reports regarding the incident and had ordered the management of the Hyderabad college and Larji project authorities were asked to pay compensation of Rs. 5 lakh to the kin of each victims. 

A thorough enquiry was also ordered by the court in this matter under Divisional Commissioner, Mandi. (PTI)
