BJP blowing hot and cold on TDP

BJP blowing hot and cold on TDP

It looks like Bharatiya Janata Party has decided to follow blow-hot-blow-cold policy towards its ally Telugu Desam Party in Andhra Pradesh, to keep the latter guessing on its strategy till the next elections.

The BJP leaders, right from Union minister M Venkaiah Naidu to local leaders like B Vishnu Kumar Raju, are following the same policy: criticising the TDP on crucial issues, while continuing the coalition dharma.

On Saturday, Venkaiah Naidu made it clear that the TDP would continue to be its alliance for now, but it was too early to talk about the alliance in the next elections.

“As long as the alliance continues, we follow the coalition dharma. At the same time, we will make all efforts to strengthen the BJP in Andhra,” he said.

Former union minister Daggubati Purandeshwari said the BJP was ready to face the elections on its own in Andhra Pradesh. The party leaders would campaign extensively telling people that the credit for the development of the state would go only to the BJP.

Vishakapatnam North BJP MLA P Vishnu Kumar Raju said the BJP would not like to antagonise the TDP and the Jana Sena Party till the next elections, as they fought together in 2014.

He was all praise for some TDP leaders like Minister for Roads and Buildings Ch Ayyanna Patrudu but attacked leaders like TDP MP Kesineni Nani for his comments against BJP.

He said the 2019 elections were very crucial for BJP in the state
