ATA Free Health Fair is a Mega Success

American Telugu Association (ATA) organized a mega health fair on Sunday, June 8 in Sterling, Virginia. A group of 25 Doctors participated in this Health Fair.

“The fair benefited hundreds of people in the DC Metro area,” said organizers Bhuvanesh Boojala, Conference Coordinator, and Sr.Citizens Chair Madan Vanga.

The Mega Health Fair, which featured free admission for all, was held in the Swadesh banquet halls with the help from Swadesh Manageemnt, health education for all ages, glucose tests, BP screenings, Cholesterol tests, BMI education, dental check-ups, nutrition instruction, Cardiology, Urology, Allergy/Asthma, OB Gyn, Nephrology, Oncology, and many more medical areas.

“More than 25 specialty doctors, medical students, local volunteers, and 25 ATA volunteers provided services in this health fair. They contributed greatly to the success of this event. This is a true testament to their genuine passion and commitment for community service,” said organizers Dr.Khanna, President of VAAPI(Virginia Association of Physicians from India).

Fair activities were focused on health screenings, consultations, and current health awareness through numerous exhibits and health talks featuring experts in medicine, weight Loss, nutrition, and more.

Specialists in pediatrics, oncology, orthopedics, psychiatry, Cardiology, Foot and ankle, Internal medicine, urology,and gastroentology also provided expert consultations to participants, while internists and dentists performed individual tests, including glucose screens and BP checkups. Medical students distributed free medical educational information to all participants.

ATA thanks all doctors who participated in the fair. ATA Conference Coordinator, Bhuvanesh Boojala thanks the organizers, doctors, and volunteers for providing time and expertise into making this health fair a great success.
