3/4th Indian Households Don't Need Jobs: Survey

There is a huge hue and cry world over about dwindling employment opportunities and the growing disparity between the haves and have-nots.

But the results of a survey have thrown up rather surprising results which will have many people sit up and think twice.

All figures mentioned are specific to India and reveal the ground reality in an Indian context.

According to the results given out, nearly 3/4th of Indian households do not have even one job seeker while the remaining 1/4th households have 115 million job seekers. Incidentally, the number is twice the current population of UK.

In 72% of the households, there is absolutely no job seeker. In 16% households, there is one job seeker, in 7% households there are two job seekers and in 3% households there are 3 job seekers. In mere 2% households, there are four job seekers per household.

While the figures are reassuring in terms of the economic well-being of the Indian population at large, it is rather disturbing as this would set the ball rolling for an economic downslide in the coming years.
