All eyes are on actress-turned-YSR Congress party legislator R K Roja as to whether she would tender unconditional apology to Telugu Desam Party legislator V Anitha, when the state assembly resumes its business on Monday.
Though Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao is expected to take a call on Roja’s suspension issue, sources said he might take it up on Monday itself, a couple of hours before the presentation of budget by finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu.
The Speaker would table the report of the assembly previleges committee on extending the suspension on Roja for one more year for her alleged comments against Anitha and take the opinion of the House.
The TDP members are equipped with a letter written by Roja to the Speaker following a Supreme Court direction, in which she said she would tender an unconditional apology to Anitha if she had inadvertently hurt the latter. Showing the letter, they might demand Roja’s apology in the House.
However, Roja already made it clear that she would not tender any further apologies, as she had already written a letter to this effect. Even her boss, YSRC president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy also argued that Roja cannot be punished twice for a single mistake.
In any case, the assembly is going to witness an interesting battle on Monday.
