Will Modi Come To Naidu's Rescue?

With the fast unto death taken up by YSR Congress party leader Y S Jaganmohan Reddy getting for special category status to Andhra Pradesh getting tremendous response from the people, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is looking up to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, hoping that he would make some positive announcement when he comes to lay foundation stone for Amaravati capital.

The Prime Minister’s programme for the foundation laying ceremony on October 22 was confirmed on Friday.

Naidu is holding a Cabinet meeting at Vijaywada on Saturday to discuss the Prime Minister’s visit and the plan to make an appeal to Modi for making some announcement on special category status.

Modi is scheduled to arrive at the airport at 11.45 am on October 22 and will drive straight to venue where the foundation is to be laid.

The Prime Minister will leave for Tirupati from Gannavaram at 3 pm on that day to reach Tirumala at 5.25 pm. After the darshan of the Lord Venkateswara, he will leave for Delhi at 7.30 pm.

Naidu reportedly asked the ministers to come prepared with the detailed requirement of funds for their respective departments, so that he would present the report to the Prime Minister.

He is of strong opinion that Modi would make a statement that would definitely bring relief to the ruling TDP, sources said.
