Will Every One Pray At His Mother's Temple?

Will Every One Pray At His Mother's Temple?

There was a time when temples were meant purely for gods. Then came a time when babas also got temples built.

Now, the trend is such there are temples for film stars and political leaders too.

Somehow Tamil Nadu leads this trend and the latest development on the temple scene is that choreographer-turned-director Raghavendra Lawrence has built a temple for his mother.

In fact, he has the experience of having constructed a temple in the past. Mother is the living god and it’s thanks to one’s mother that children grow into responsible citizens.

While bringing up children is relatively easy for well-to-do parents, his mother brought him up despite having little means. And to honour her memory, Lawrence built a temple for her in his house.

But now, will the temple be open for all to pray? Or will it be restricted only to his family members? Many are confused if Lawrence wants everyone to come and pray at the temple. When asked, Lawrence says what’s wrong in seeing their mother in his mother.

Well, till now one saw parents being worshipped at the place where they are buried after death. But now, if children start building temples for their parents, it could lead to new problems. However, it has to be said that Lawrence is a rather emotional man.
