Pattabhi who is defending the Hetero Group vis-à-vis the disproportionate assets case of YSRCP leader YS Jagan has put forth an interesting argument.
He alleged that the CBI has been making allegations only to corner Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Pattabhi argued that Rs 15 crores was invested in Jagan’s real estate firm Janani Infra purely for profits. Similarly, an investment of Rs 4 crore was made in Jagati Publications.
Pattabhi questioned as to why cases were not booked against all those mentioned by late YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s aide Sureedu.
Asking as to why only Hetero Drugs was being targeted, he pointed that while cases have been booked against various others, no case has been booked against KVP.
Pattabhi said that the land was merely leased to their company and not purchased by it as indicated by CBI in the chargesheet.
A discharge petition has been filed to appeal to the court to clear the name of Hetero Drugs from the controversy. Pattabhi was making his arguments on the occasion.
Now, it remains to be seen how the CBI will counter these allegations.
