One might be mistaken for thinking that the Governor has joined the TRS. Such was the zeal with which he participated in the 'Swacch Bharat' programmes in Hyderabad.
Although he does seem to have curtailed on his ‘Tirumala Trips’ thanks to ‘Andhra Jyothy’, rarely a day goes by without images of KCR calling on the governor, being flashed in the daily papers.
But why was the Governor not present at such a historic occasion of the ‘bhoomi puja’ of the new capital of AP?
Was he not invited by Naidu or did he not bother to attend? Even though Narasimhan is the governor of AP too, has he bothered to visit even a single town of AP other than Tirupati?
Political analysts say that there is a definite perception in the people of AP now that the governor is clearly biased towards Telangana and hostile towards the interests of AP.
In normal times, the Governor’s role hardly merits any importance. But thanks to the haphazard bifurcation of AP, ‘Raj Bhavan’ has become the most important destination. So much for a rubber stamp!
